2024 Tripz.UK British Supermoto championship: RD2 – Teesside Autodrome.

What a weekend high of emotions!. Friday’s trackday started with Chris Hodgson back on track for the first time after his collarbone surgery 3 weeks ago. With no pressure applied form the team we left total freedom of choice to Chris to decide to ride or not, so after testing his physical condition Chris decided he was fit to Race.

Alex Mullaney confirmed his great riding at the Round 1 was not by chance. Consistently fast the whole weekend, Alex placed his TM Moto 4T 450Fi SMX machine once again into 3th place in race 2 in the Saturday National.Sadly a stroke of bad luck didn’t give him the chance of achieving the results he was chasing, a puncture during Saturday’s Q1 alongside a bad crash after just touching the grass in the Sunday’s British championship race 1 knocked his results slightly.

Chris Hodgson, only 3 weeks after his broken collarbone and subsequent surgery, decided to take part in the race meeting after ‘testing the water’ on Friday. Taking P1 in qualifying on his TM Moto 4T 450Fi SMX machine, Chris then achieved a 2nd in race 1 of Saturday’s ‘National’ – after a great battle with Jay Smith –  and a 3rd in race 3. In Sunday’s ‘British Championship’ races, Chris rode incredibly well the whole day, qualifying 2nd in Superpole and going on to win races 1 and 2 with a 4th place in the ‘reverse grid’ race 3, ending with a well-earned 2nd place overall for the day.

Archie Reynolds, our junior team rider, put on another great display riding. Now near fully-adjusted to his new bike, Arhcie placed himself and his TM 2T 85 SMX machine on the podium once again taking 2 x 2nd place finishes and a 3rd place finish in  Sunday’s ‘British Championship’.

We must mention and can’t thank enough our mechanic Phil Diggle, who has been working ‘flat out’ to set and repair Alex’s and Chris’s bikes throughout the weekend. Thanks also to Iain Hutchinson who helped and contributed to allow Chris be on track again for this round. Huge thanks to the Mullaney family for hosting and taking care of us.
