2024 ACU British Enduro Championship: Rds 1/2 - Helmsley

Report: 2 TM Moto Machines In The Top 4 Overall

The small town of Helmsley on the North Yorkshire moors was the location for the first 2 rounds of the 2024 ‘BEC’ this past weekend, where the Electraction TM Moto Enduro team were out in full force with riders competing in numerous classes throughout the field. After a great start to weekend for Rd1 on Saturday, the band of rain sweeping northwards over the weekend hit Helmsley on Saturday night, forcing the organisors to cut-short Rd2 of the event on Sunday due to the worsening conditions.

In the Championship Class, BEC ‘regulars’ Josh Gotts and Jordan Scott dispalyed their talents once again. Josh and his Lasermaster TM Moto 4T 300Fi EN machine ‘lead-the field’ during day 1 on Saturday into the final test, but sadly a small fall cost him the win. Josh went on to finish in 2nd Place overall on day 1 and 3rd overall on day 2 in the Championship Class, with the same positions in the E2 Classification.

Jordan and his TM Moto 4T 250Fi EN machine put on great display leading the E1 Championship Class for the duration. Despite still nursing a back injury sustained in the Enduro World Championship, Jordan ended his weekend with two 4th place finishes overall in the Championship Class and took 2 wins in the E1 Classification to lead the E1 Championship Class standings.

In the Clubman class Conor Dunne and his TM Moto 250Fi EN machine went on to take his best ever BEC finish, ending his weekend with 8th Clubman overall / P4 in E1 Clubman class on Satuday with 5th Clubman overall and P3 in E1 Clubman Class on Sunday. A great result for the young Irishman on his new 4-stroke machine for the 2024 season.

In the Clubman Over 40s Class Mark Maloney on his TM Moto 2T 144 EN machine has a weekend of mixed results, a ‘sight-seeing excursion’ put him out of action on day 1 but he was back in action on day 2 to take a well-earned 6th in the Over 40’s class.

Fellow over 40’s Clubman Class competitor, Sheamie Hayes, powered his TM Moto 2T 300 EN machine to the Clubman Over 40’s Class overall victory on both days, leading from the get-go Sheamie ‘cleaned-up’ in the class going untouched on test-times for the duration.

A big well done to all involved and of course huge thanks to all the sponsore and supporters.

Thanks, TM UK.
