Welsh Open Sprint Championship Rd1… ‘King of the Hill’.
Cwmythig Hill (Rhayader) was the venue for Rd 1 of the 2024 Welsh Sprint Championship. Blue skies and sunshine graced us for the day’s racing, And what fantastic racing it was.
Josh Gotts and his TM Moto 4T 300Fi EN machine had a day of small falls and casing jumps!, eventually blowing out his rear shock mid-way through the day, this saw Josh firing-up his his very tricked-out 2T 125 MX machine to complete the last ‘sprint’!. Josh ended the day in 10th position overall in a very stacked championship class.
Jordan Scott struggled to find the right setup on his TM Moto 250Fi EN machine, with some small falls costing him time also Jordan ended his day in 11th place. Onwards and upwards for Rd 2.
Young Conor Dunne showed good speed once again just missing out on a podium, finishing in 4th place in the ever-competitive Clubman Class on his TM Moto 4T 250Fi machine
Ever the showman, Mark Moloney on his TM Moto 2T 144 EN machine ‘kissed’ the track on lap 1, injuring his right thumb. Mark ended the day finishing 14th in ‘Vets’ Class.
Shamie Hayes on his TM Moto 2T 300 EN machine was having a good day until a few silly mistakes cost him time on the closing tests, Shamie finished off his day in 10th overall in the Vets Class.
Next stop Rd’s 3 &4 of British Enduro Championship at the Brechfa.
