TM BOANO FACTORY: ASSOLUTI ITALIA 24. RD1 - CAVAGLIA
ENDURO TEAM PRESS RELEASE: 2024
The first act of the 2024 Italian Enduro Championships took place in the small town of Cavaglià on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March. The inaugural weekend of the season started with the Super Test on Friday in the presence of a large audience despite the bad weather.]
The Motoclub Azeglio, in the days preceding the race, worked hard to organize and design the route which, due to bad weather, was modified numerous times. The transfer was reduced to a few km and mainly on dirt and asphalt roads and even the special tests underwent numerous cuts and upheavals to try to keep the race going.
On Saturday the race was run regularly and fourteen special stages were held over the five scheduled laps. Unfortunately, however, the heavy uninterrupted rains from Saturday evening until Sunday morning forced the organizers to cancel the second day of competition on Sunday. Above all to preserve the territories that hosted us.
Excellent debut for our riders who ran an excellent race, in the Overall classification Matteo Cavallo achieved an excellent sixth place while the new signing Lorenzo Macoritto finished less than ten seconds behind him. The Piedmontese rider recorded the third best time overall in the first Extreme special test while Lorenzo Macoritto achieved a third and second best time on the third and fourth lap of the Extreme Test and a third best time overall on the last lap in the Enduro Test.
In Cavaglia Matteo Cavallo won the 300 class, trailing the second place by almost a minute and the third place by over seven minutes. The Piedmontese driver will arrive at the first world championship in full shape and with the idea of doing well.
Excellent debut for Lorenzo Macoritto on his TM 250 Fi 2T where he took the class victory and achieved an excellent seventh place overall. A good feeling with the bike and his determination have brought him to the positions he deserves. A good start in view of the first World Championship event.
The 2023 Italian Enduro Championships will now take a break of over a month to return on 27 and 28 April to Caltanissetta (CL) for the third and fourth round of the 2024 season.
Debut in the Junior class for Samuli Boano with the TM 300 4T. after a first lap close to the top five positions, a fall on an already fractured thumb forced Samuli to slow down his pace. He finishes with a positive ninth place and brings home the first points of the season.
Deny Philippaerts: ” Alberto was very good and fast. Above all he was good at not losing concentration after the first two falls. For Samuli an uphill day still causes the fresh injury. However, in the first lap he demonstrated that he can finish among the top five in the class. The young people’s motto is #suffer to get there and they aren’t holding back!!”
Jarno: “A good start which bodes well for the start of the EnduroGP in about a month. They showed determination and speed. We continue to work towards Portugal. I’m happy that Leo also joined the group this weekend even though he was still able to race. His wrist is healing and he will be back on the bike this week too. The group is united and all we have left is to go racing with serenity and determination. Thank you all!”
