CRD Motorsport: 2025 MXGP - aRCO DI TRENTO

Report:

Pietramurata (TN), 12-13 April 2025 – The ‘Arco di Trento Cyclamino’ has once again hosted a round of the MX GP World & European Championships. A weekend with the two-sided weather, sun on Saturday and cloudy with rain on Sunday, but an event that gives us another piece of history to remember for the team and for the TM Moto.

Niccolo Mannini won his first career race in the European EMX125 then climbing the second step of the podium. A sunny Saturday greeted the whole circus of MX Teams and riders who arrived at the Cyclamen, including our two drivers Niccolo Mannini and Julius Mikula riding their TM Moto machines.

Niccolo got the fourth half of his group in qualifying by earning a good place at the gate. Julius in the qualifying heat started very well but then he gradually lost positions, contact with an opponent damaged his front wheel, halfway through the race he had to withdraw with a technical problem.

On Saturday afternoon in the first heat of the EMX125 Niccolo started well, as often happens. In the first corners he took a good margin of advantage over the whole competition. After half of the race he was caught by Bellei, the two then endured a very nice battle, but in the heat of the moment they make contact with each other and fall. Niccolo remounts and attepts to recover lost ground, he tries to remain hooked to fourth place but in the final laps he suffers a big attack from his other opponents, passing him to see him finish in 7th place. In the second heat on Sunday morning the script was repeated, a great departure from the gate and the command of the race was soon obtained. This time Niccolo win his first heat of European EMX 125!. With this victory he also climbed to the 2nd step of the GP podium and is now 3rd in the championship ranking a few points from those who precede it.

Julius had an arduous task starting from the worst position at the starting gate given the last place of the Saturday qualification. But in the first heat he managed to shoot over the twentieth position. After some battling with some riders he found himself in 14th position on the fifth lap, but now the rest of the group that preceded him had run away. In the race two things went similarly, this time Julius was more in the heart of the group, fighting to keep positions that would allow him to go to points. At the finish he closed in 15th position. After this test in the GP ended in 15th place overall and now occupies the 16th position in the MX2 World Cup. Next weekend we return to the track for the Switzerland GP with both our drivers for the sixth test of the MX2 World Cup and the fifth of the European EMX125.

Niccolo Mannini: “A decidedly positive weekend. In the first heat I was in the lead up to three quarters of the race, but then a contact with another rider made me lose important positions for the GP, I arrived seventh with many regrets. On Sunday I was really angry and I transformed everything into the willpower to do well. Fortunately this went my way, I was strong in the head, determined, I push hard to the finish, resisting the attacks of my opponents. The first victory of race in the European 125 but a little sorry because I could also win the GP. I thank all the team, the TM and all the people who help and support me. See you in Switzerland ”.

Julius Mikula: “The MXGP round of this weekend in Arco di Trento brought both challenges and positive feedback for me. The qualification race on Saturday I had an excellent start, leaving the gate in second position. Unfortunately, on the first lap I arrived short from triple and I damaged my front wheel. Some turns later, a technical problem forced me to withdraw from the race. Due to the withdrawal of Saturday, I had to start from the outside, which made things much more difficult. Despite the harsh choice of the gate and the demanding conditions, I managed to end up with good results, 14th in race one and 15th in the second heat. We continue to push and I can’t wait to run next weekend in Switzerland! “.
