CRD Motorsport: 2025 MXGP - ernee, france.

Report:
Ernèe, 24/25 May 2025 : For the second time this year the Circus of MX GP World Championship and European Championship (EMX) has moved to France. The seventh test of the European 125 took place in the historic circuit of Ernèe.
Once again in the race both Julius Mikula and Niccolo Mannini on a predominantly good weekend… apart from Sunday morning.
Niccolo started the weekend at best, recording the fastest time both in the free practice session and the timed qualifying session. With the pole position he was able to choose the starting gate first, which in the race on Saturday afternoon saw him launch well… but at the first corner contact with other drivers slowed him then shortly after another hitch and a fall, all in the first lap. Starting again from the tail end of the pack, he gave everything to be able to reassemble as many positions possible and the finish has been passing through 14th position. On Sunday morning, on the route made heavy by the rain, Nicolo started better finding himself in the first five from early doors. Unfortunately, the track was a little ‘one-line’ and overtaking was very difficult to achieve, Niccolo had gone to fourth position but in the final minutes he was overtaken by his opponent and closed in 5th place. With these results he closed 7th in the GP and always occupies the 5th position in the championship.
Niccolo Mannini: “A bitter sweet weekend for me. After starting great with pole position, the first round of the race one was a kind of nightmare. Some contacts and a fall forced me to reassemble and work back until 14th. Race two went much better even if overtaking was difficult. I took care. To the Team, TM Moto, my family, my trainer and all those who support me, thank you “.
In MX2 Julius began the weekend taking 17th position in the Time Practice, which led him to the qualifying heats of the MX2. Sadly for him the qualifying race only lasted a few laps… a big problem his goggle lens allowing mud and debris to enter his eyes, forcing him to retire in great discomfort and with poor vision that effect him all weekend. On Sunday in the two main races the script was the same. Starting from a very disadvantaged position he tried to do the best possible, but he has always fought between the fifteenth and twentieth position. At the end of the two races he closed respectively in 18th and 19th position, bringing home some points. After this Julius GP is 18th in the general classification thus losing a position compared to the last GP.
Julius Mikula: “In Ernée’s GP the track was perfectly prepared, very technical and in some sections quite unpredictable, which made it particularly demanding. In the qualifying race, unfortunately I had problems with my glasses, which made even seeing very difficult, I also had a small accident and I decided to retire from the race to focus on the preparation of Sunday. Sunday in the race I had a poor start position and I was going out almost last in both moto. Working up into 18th place and I had a decent rhythm, but it was not enough to fill the gap I lost at the beginning. The second heat was more or less the same story: another bad start, a solid race through the pack and I finished 19th. Now I am completely focused on the next appointment in Germany and determined to return stronger. “
The next commitment to the team will be the German GP that will run next weekend on the Teutscanthal track. In the race once again, both Julius and Niccolo in their respective championships.
