CRD Motorsport: 2025 MXGP of Europe - St Jean d'Angeley

Report:

Saint Jean D’Angely, 22/23 March 2025 – The Europe GP raced this past weekend, on the circuit of Saint Jean D’Angely, will enter into the books as one of the most beautiful pages of history for the team and for TM Moto. Niccolò Mannini with second place in the GP has conquered the red table of the leader of the European Championship EMX125. A weekend characterized by continuous meteorological changes that have once again put everyone to the test. Niccolo Mannini and Julius Mikula have, as usual, thrown their heart beyond the obstacle with the usual great commitment and determination.

For Niccolo, the weekend of the EMX 125 class began with the timed sessions that saw him end with 7th within his half of the EMX 125 groups. On Saturday afternoon the first race was held and Niccolo started in the best way possible, detaching from everyone at the jump from the gate to conquer a decisive Hole-Shot. From there it was a head-to-head first with Faures for the head of the race, then in the dying laps, another battle with Mantovani for second place. In the end Niccolo had to settle for 3rd place. In the second heats he runs on Sunday morning another Hole Shot for him but in the third turn he fell, losing many positions. Niccolo did not lose heart and produced a fantastic comeback that led him to 3rd place once again. An epic race with a lot of mud on the track that showed how much the harmony between motorcycle and pilot is well underway. With these two third places he finished in 2nd place in the absolute of the GP and is now at the top of the European EMX125 after two events completed.

In MX2 GP Julius experienced a demanding weekend. On Saturday he conquered the 17th time in Time Practice, the same position saw him end the qualifying race also. On Sunday in the two heats he conquered a 16th and 11th place. In the first race a difficult starts forced him to fight in the center of the group. In the second race he started much better, climbing positions within touch of the the top ten. In the last lap he attempted overtaking to enter the into 10th place but he did not succeed. There remains another solid test that confirms his progress. Julius closed the absolute of the GP in 14th place and is now 14th in the MX2 World Cup ranking.

The team after this GP will return to Italy. The second test of the Italian Pro Prestige will run next weekend in Mantua which will see both Niccolo and Julius once again engaged.

Niccolo Mannini: “One of the most beautiful weekend of my albeit short career. On Saturday I struggled to interpret the track but then the rain fell before the race, this helped me by equalising the field a little. I take the lead and then I had fun in the race in battle with Manu and Filippo. In the end I was satisfied with third place. In the race two a lot of mud but I still conquered the Hole Shot. Shortly afterwards I fell and left in the middle of the group I used all my anger to recover. In the end another beautiful third place and the conquest of second place in the GP and the red table! I am really happy, I want to thank the whole team, TM in the person of Gastone Serafini, Alix Power and all those who support us this season”.

Julius Mikula: “In the GP of Europe the rain arrived during the qualifying race. Unfortunately, water got inside my goggles, which made visibility extremely difficult and affected my overall performance. I finished the session in 17th place, which determined my gate pick for Sunday’s races. In the first moto on Sunday, I struggled to find my rhythm. I wasn’t feeling comfortable on the bike and couldn’t get into the flow I needed. I fought hard but had to settle for 16th place at the finish. For the second moto, I was determined to improve. Things didn’t start well, as I got stuck in the first corner and was forced to restart from the very back of the pack. Despite the tough start, I found my pace and focused on making clean passes. I kept pushing throughout the race and managed to work my way up to 11th place by the end. After such a difficult beginning, I’m happy with how I turned things around.I want to give a big thanks to my entire team for their hard work and support throughout the weekend. Also, a huge thank you to my partners and fans for always standing behind me!”.
