Steels Dr Jack: 2024 Italian 'Pro Prestige' MX: Rd4 - sANTA BARBARA OF pONTE

Report:

DOUBLE PODIUM FOR MARTINEZ AND RISPOLI!

One hell of a muddy day on the track, but our two boys pulled off a good performance both taking to the podium in their repspective categories.

Once again a Tuscan track hosted the fourth test of the Italian Pro Prestige… The Santa Barbara of Ponte in Egola had to face a difficult weekend, especially on Sunday with the heavy rain that fell in the morning, despite this… the event was ran to then end.
Once again competing, in the MX2 class our Yago Martinez and Brando Rispoli.
The weekend started on Saturday with timed rehearsals. Excellent performance by Yago, he recorded the best time in his group, for Brando the eighth in the group. On Sunday the track presented itself with a lot of mud and with that, much greater difficulties for the riders to face. After the first inning both of our boys ride well and find themselves in the first positions. Yago won second position in the third lap while Brando recovered from ninth position. Two laps from the terminal Yago falls and gets swept in the mud.
Same fate for Brando falling when he was in 3rd. At the finish line, given by the red flag of the race director, Brando finished in eighth place and Yago in 14th.
Race two runs on more accessible ground and sees Brando making the hole shot and Yago taking the lead a few meters later. During the first lap, both of them retreat from some position, but taking advantage of a few errors by their opponents, Yago takes back the lead of the race to not give up until the checkered flag. First leg win for him in this competition. Brando moves up from seventh to sixth final position.

In their respective tournaments Yago continues to occupy second position among Elite MX2 Brando climbs up to sixth in Fast MX2.

The next commitment for the team is set for July 20 and 21 in Locket for the GP of the Czech Republic.

YAGO MARTINEZ: “What a race guys! First win of the match that means a lot to us. Another race where it rained out a lot and we found a very difficult track that made me fall in the first race when I was second. The second round was very intense with a fall as well but we managed to win. I want more and conquer absolute victory. Thanks to the team and all those who support us”.

BRANDO RISPOLI: “Weekend of ups and downs, on Saturday I struggled to find that second one which would have been useful for an excellent qualification. On Sunday in the mud I was very fast, in race one from a start in 33rd position I went back up to 2nd then unfortunately the bike didn’t finish the lap. Race 2 hole shots then two falls on the first lap compromised the race but still happy to show this speed in the mud. I thank all of you”.
