Steels Dr Jack: 2024 DUTCH MXGP - mx2/emx

Report:

TOUGH WEEKEND FOR BRANDO AND YAGO WITH ILLNESS AND INJURY…

It was the sand of Arnhem that hosted yet another test of both the MX2 World Championship and the 125 European Championship for our boys on their TMs. A weekend where nothing or almost nothing went right.

Starting from Saturday which saw the withdrawal of our Brando Rispoli who raised the white flag after the time trials of his EMX125 group ended with the 10th time. Brando had participated in an international race in Belgium a few days before the GP where he injured the finger of one hand. The so much pain as soon as qualifying ended made everyone understand that there was no point in continuing and risking further damage. Brando will now observe a period of rest to be ready as soon as possible.

BRANDO RISPOLI: “Unfortunately, on the Thursday before the GP, during a race, I hit a barrier and fractured the 5th metacarpal of my hand. Today (Saturday) I tried to race, I did a decent qualifying but facing a heat to finish last due to the pain didn’t make sense. Now I’m going home and I’ll see if I’m recovering as best I can, we’ll see each other again for the Pro Prestige stage in Castiglione del Lago at the end of the month. Thanks as always to TM moto and the Steels Dr Jack team.”

Yago Martinez’s weekend has now become a habit when racing on the soft. This type of terrain is truly difficult for him and this does not allow him to express himself at his best, having to be satisfied with what he manages to do. His physical condition was also not optimal. After a time attack he finished in 28th place. At the start of the RAM qualifying race he was involved in a group crash. After a few laps he then took to the pits. In the two heats on Sunday he was never able to make an impact, finishing the first prematurely due to a fall which then prevented him from starting the second heat. Now it’s a question of understanding whether he will be able to recover for the next stage.

YAGO MARTINEZ: “I hadn’t felt well for a few days already. I had a bit of a fever and after the first heat the team and I decided not to start the second. Today I feel better and in Switzerland we will return to the level we need to be.”

See you next weekend with the Swiss GP which will take place on the Fraunfeld track. Our Yago Martinez on the track in MX2.
