Enduro GP Rd3: Bacau, Romania – TM Boano Factory.

The Enduro World Championship stops in Romania for the third round of the 2024 season and the town of Bacău, in the historical region of Moldova, Romania.

From Friday 10 May to Sunday 12 May it hosted the event which attracted a large audience, starting from the Super Test on Friday evening and throughout the race weekend.

The 52 km route, masterfully designed by the Motoclub 3.3 km characterised by hard and dusty terrain, followed by a natural Extreme Test of 2 Km inside a forest with hard terrain alternating with treacherous parts with stones and roots and finally an Enduro Test inside a very dense forest technical and fast made particularly challenging by the presence of steep climbs and descents and by the hard ground full of roots.

Matteo Cavallo ran a splendid race at the Romanian GP, the Piedmontese driver immediately started strong, recording the best overall time at the Super Test on Friday evening and in the two days of competition he collected two excellent second places in the hotly contested E3 class.

After the good performances at the Assoluti Lorenzo Macoritto was unable to shine on Romanian soil. The final score for him is a ninth and an eighth place in the hard-fought and difficult E1 class.

The French driver Leo Le Quere, despite the pain from an injury to his right hand, achieved a well-deserved ninth and seventh place in the E2 class.

In the Junior Classification, two days on the top step for our Alberto Elgari who managed to bring home a double victory. Alberto managed to be fast right from the start on both days and despite some errors he managed to overcome his opponents with a reasonable margin. Alberto is now leader of the Championship with a six point advantage over the second.

In conjunction with the Enduro GP, the third round of the Italian Under 23 Championship was held in Ceva in the province of Cuneo. The race saw a full complement of riders with 300 starters who battled in two special tests, a Cross Test and an Enduro Test, for three laps of the race.
In the Junior 450 Samuli Boano took home a second place. A fall in the first enduro test penalized the result in the Overall classification where he finished twenty-fourth.
In the 125 cadet class, excellent fourth place for Gabriele Giordano upon his return to this Championship. The result gives us hope for the next races. In the overall ranking Gabriele finished in thirty-fourth place. For all three riders of the Junior Team the next appointment will be on 1-2 June in Spoleto for the Italian Championships.

The EnduroGP World Championship is now stopping for over a month before returning in mid-June with the Italian GP from 21st to 23rd June in Bettola (PC) for the fourth round of the 2024 season.
